Preserving and celebrating historic homes is about honoring the stories, craftsmanship, and cultural significance while ensuring functionality and relevance for modern living. With a unique geographic perspective, our panel explores this delicate balance – not only to inspire appreciation for these homes throughout Boston, the Cape and Islands, and beyond, but also to foster a dialogue on preserving their legacy for future generations. Digs Design Company is an interior design firm based in Newport, and with award-winning projects across the country. Jocelyn Chiappone founded Digs Design Company with the mission to inspire and elevate her clients’ lives through classic interiors with a distinctive style dubbed the “Digs Mix.” Digs Design Co is highly regarded as a leader in the industry, and has been featured in cover stories and in Traditional Home and House Beautiful, to name a few. 

 

Lili Herrera has been practicing landscape architecture with the prestigious OvS firm since 2011. Ms. Herrera’s recent accomplishments include the Forest Park’s East Waterways project, at Forest Park in St. Louis, MO. Additional project highlights include The American Museum and Gardens in Bath, UK, and the White House Rose Garden. Ms. Herrera has a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Master of Professional Studies in Horticulture from Cornell University.

 

Patrick Ahearn, FAIA, has focused on historically-motivated site-sensitive private residences in some of America’s most desirable destinations for nearly five decades. Whether restoring century-old structures or creating new homes that reimagine local vernacular, he demonstrates an unparalleled ability to combine the romance of traditional architecture with the ideals of modernism. He has received accolades including eight prestigious Bulfinch Awards and his work has been featured in publications including Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, and The Robb Report.

 

Sarah Baldwin Annicelli is Principal and co-owner of Duxbury, MA based interior design team, Baldwin Burke Interiors. BBI is grounded in its passion for traditional, elevated and family-minded interiors. Through Julie and Sarah’s love for pattern, color and antique finds, the team provides a vessel to translate our clients vision into layered, lived-in homes that withstand the test of time.
